Sustainability has become one of the defining forces shaping corporate strategy, financial resilience, and long-term competitiveness. Despite regulatory uncertainty, a critical tone from the US and geopolitical noise, long-term competitiveness and financial sustainability is reliant on a transition to a more sustainable way of doing business. Sustainability is a decisive factor in how companies are governed, valued, and trusted by stakeholders. Chief Sustainability Officers, alongside peers in finance, supply chain, and procurement, stand at the intersection of regulation, strategy, and execution – and the decisions made today will determine, not only compliance, but future value creation. This program brings together leading voices from academia, advisory, business, and finance to illuminate the path forward. Together, these sessions will provide not just insights, but also guidance for action. The program is designed to help sustainability leaders and their peers see the bigger picture: Regulation is only the starting point, strategy is where value is unlocked, and execution – both within companies and across financial systems – determines who will succeed in the economy of tomorrow.

13.00-13.30 Registration and networking
13.30-13.40 Welcome by twoHundred & Camilla Adamsen Nielsen
13.40-14.20 Keynote by Andreas Rasche:
Status on regulation and how to proceed
Sustainability professionals and a lot of CFOs have spent time on EU sustainability regulations within the last few years. There has been a laser focus on preparing for CSRD, hired and fired employees and invested millions. Public companies of a certain size started reporting for FY 2024, while the rest were faced with a new reality at the beginning of the year - Omnibus. Some actors want CSRD, CSDDD and Taxonomy reporting rolled back, others want it as is, and a third group would like to limit the scope, while maintaining the depth. The Trilogue negotiations between the EU institutions will likely happen in November and December, chaired by the Council Presidency, Denmark.
What is the best path forward, that caters to both short-term competitiveness and long-term competitiveness according to the research community? Andreas Rasche will take us through this session.
14.20-14.50 Keynote by Sven Beyersdorff:
Sustainability as a driver for value creation
Sustainability is not compliance, it’s business resilience. So, for this session, let’s switch out our compliance hat with a strategic one. Create a sustainability strategy that strengthens your corporate strategy, always with a value creation mindset. Link strategy initiatives to a financial outcome, to understand what effect sustainability initiative X has on costs, revenue, internal and external brand perception, and long-term resilience. Show a clear cost benefit analysis - short term and long term.
Sven Beyersdorff from Nordic Sustainability will take you through how to create a sustainability strategy that is fit-for-purpose to the times we are in.
14.50-15.05 Break
15.05-15.35 Keynote by Rikke Højris Bæk:
Navigating ESG compliance and value creation
How do you balance a new sustainability strategy that integrates into the corporate strategy, CSRD compliance, actual sustainability action and integration of the biggest acquisition to date? Rikke Højris Bæk, ESG Manager at Matas Group, will give us her answers.
15.35-16.00 Keynote by Kevin Andersson:
How is Nykredit integrating ESG risks in credit assessments of clients
While Omnibus means that regulatory requirements for sustainability reporting are up in the air, your banks are required by law to integrate ESG risks in credit assessments. To assess ESG risks, they need ESG data and transition plans. No data means no transparency, and results in higher ESG risks. How are ESG risks affecting credit worthiness, loan terms and pricing in the future?
Kevin Andersson, who developed the ESG model for the credit department in Nykredit will take you through this.
